Overview

Van Cortlandt Cooperative Federal Credit Union, was federally chartered in 1936. Today VCCFCU is one of the strongest financial institutions in New York City.

Van Cortlandt Cooperative FCU is a financial cooperative owned by its members. When you join, you become an owner of the credit union. And since we have member owners and not stockholders, all profits are returned back to our members in the form of better rates, services and fees than you would typically get from a bank. Member savings accounts are federally insured up to $250,000 and IRA accounts are separately insured up to $250,000 by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration), a US Government Agency.

Here are just a few of the reasons why you should join too:

  • Great rates on loans and savings accounts
  • Lower fees and service charges
  • Excellent service
  • You’re an owner, not a number!

We invite you to become a member, here’s how:

After you confirm member eligibility, come into the credit union during our teller business hours (Mondays & Thursdays 2pm-8pm, Tuesdays & Wednesdays 9am-12pm). Please bring the original following documents: Government issued picture id, social security card and proof of address. You will need just $5.00 to be deposited into your new share savings account in the form of currency or check.

If you have any questions about or how to join VCCFCU, or if you wish to add your organization to our charter, please call the Credit Union office at:

IMPORTANT PROCEDURES FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.

What this means for you is that when you open an account or ask for new services at the Credit Union, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask to see your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
