Especially for our members age 13-19!

Now more than ever, teaching personal finance to teens is important. At VCCFCU, we believe that financial literacy is an essential part of preparing the next generation of adults for independent living. This is why we developed the Teen Account program. With an adult joint on your accounts, you can learn valuable financial habits through the use of your own accounts including:

  • Youth Savings Account

  • Youth Checking Account & Debit Card with daily spending limit set by parents - (for members 16-19 yrs. only).

  • Online Banking

  • Share Certificate Accounts

  • VISA Credit Card, $500 credit limit.*

  • First-time Car Loan*
    *with qualified parent as co-signor.

Once you open your Teen Account, be sure to track your deposits, withdrawals, purchases, and fees in your register so you don't spend more than you have in your account. Regularly go to online banking and compare your records. And always make sure you have enough money in your account before you use your debit card or make a withdrawal.

We encourage you to open an account for your teen. With a low $25 minimum opening deposit, you can help your teen take the first step toward financial independence and the savings incentives are fun, useful, and can be enjoyed by any teen.
